The adjoining figure shows a square WXYZ of side 8 cm, 2 semi-circles and a circle. Find the total area of shaded parts.

Area of shaded region = Area of square - Area of two semicircles

= 8*8 - (22/7)*4*4

= 64 - 176/7

= 272/7 sq cm
