Step-by-step explanation:

ANSWER:-

Let the number be considered as x .

So, According to Question:-

CASE 1:-

  • Number divided by 3.

So, it will be \dfrac{x}{3}

CASE 2:-

  • And decreased by 5 gives 6.

So it gives

 \dfrac{x}{3}  - 5 = 6

 \dfrac{x - 15}{3}  = 6

x - 15 = 3 \times 6 = 18

x = 18  + 15

So, the Required Number is 33.

Things to Note:-

  • While simplification, use the BODMAS rule.
  • According to this rule:-
  • Brackets of Division multiplication addition Subtraction.
  • This states that first the calculation in The Brackets must be done.
  • Followed by Division AND Multiplication.
  • Then Addition and Subtraction.
  • If we do not follow this rule, our results may be wrong.
  • Decreases states Subtraction.
  • Increased states Addition.
