Let the age of eldest be x.
Age of youngest = 36 yrs
Age of eldest = ?
Ratio of ages = 9 : 5
So, 36 / x = 9 / 5
180 = 9x
180 / 9 = x
20 = x
Therefore, the age of youngest is x = 20 years.

Younger age equal to 5 x

9 x - 5x = 36

X is equal to 9

eldest =9× 9=81
