the age of a father is 2 years more than five times the age of his son. If the sum of their ages is 38 years, find the age of each of them

Murarji: Son = X , Father = 5X + 2 , Now Son + Father = 38 i.e. X + 5X + 2 =38 so X = 6 Therefore Son's age is 6 and Father ' s age is 32

Let the age of son be a

Father's age = 5a+ 2

Sum of their ages = 38

=> a+ 5a + 2 = 38

=> 6a = 36

=> a = 6

Son's age = 6 years

Father's age = 32 years

let the father age be 2x+2, son's age x
2x+2+x=38
3x+2=38
3x=38-2=36
x=36/3=12
12 is the answer
