The age of a father is six times the age of his son. twenty years from now, father's age will be twice as old as son's age. what is the father's present age ? (in years)

Age of father = x years
Age of his son = Y years

x = 6y. ............(1)

x + 20 = 2(Y + 20)
x + 20 = 2y + 40
x - 2y + 20 - 40 = 0
x - 2y - 20 = 0
6y - 2y = 20. .......(from eq. (1))
4y = 20
Y = 5

put value of (Y) in eq. (1).....
so we get,
x = 6(5)
x = 30

Age of father is 30 years
