Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The age of A is 5 times more than the age of B. 5 years ago, the ratio of their ages was 3:2.

To Find :-

Find their present ages ?

Solution :-

Let the present age of B be X years

The present age of A

=> 5 times more than the age of B

=> X+ 5 years

5 years ago, the age of B = (X-5) years

5 years ago, the age of A = (X+5-5) years

=> X years

The ratio of their ages 5 years ago

= X : (X-5)

According to the given problem

The ratio = 3:2

=> X : (X-5) = 3:2

=> X / (X-5) = 3/2

On applying cross multiplication then

=> 2(X) = 3(X-5)

=> 2X = 3X-15

=> 2X -3X = -15

=> -X = -15

=> X = 15

Therefore, X = 15 years

The present age of B = 15 years

The present age of A = 15+5 = 20 years

Answer:-

The present ages of A and B are 20 and 15 years respectively.
