The age of A is five years more than that of B. 5 years ago ,the ratio of

their ages was 3:2.Find their present ages.its fourth part decreased by 30​

Let the present age of A be x years and that of B be y years .

from first condition,

x=y+5

x-y=5.......... (1)

from second condition,

x/y=3/2

2 x=3y

therefore, 2x-3y=0..........(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 3 we get,

3x-3y=15................(3)

subtracting, equation (2) from (3), we get

x= 15 and y = 10

therefore the present age of A is 15 years and that of B is 10 years
