Answer:

let age of asha be x and that of nirmal be y

so x:y=5:6

 \frac{x}{y}  =  \frac{5}{6}  \\ x = \frac{5y}{6}

after 5 years

 \frac{x + 5}{y + 5}  =  \frac{6}{7}  \\ 7(x + 5) = 6(y + 5) \\ put \: value \: of \: x \\ 7( \frac{5y}{6}  + 5) = 6y + 30 \\  \frac{35y}{6}  + 35 = 6y + 30 \\ 35 - 30 = 6y -  \frac{35y}{6}  \\ 5 =  \frac{36y - 35y}{6} \\ 5 =  \frac{y}{6}  \\ 5  \times 6 = y \\ 30 = y

x =  \frac{5y}{6}  \\ x =  \frac{5 \times 30}{6}  \\ x = 5 \times 5 \\ x = 25

so age of asha is 25 years and that of nirmal is 30 years
