Answer

  • Their ages are 5 years & 6 years

Explanation

Given

  • Ratio of the ages of Asha and Nirmal are 5:6
  • After 5 yead their ages will be of the ratio 6:7

To Find

  • Their present ages

Solution

So their present ages be,

  • Asha = 5x
  • Nirmal = 6x

After 5 years,

  • Asha = 5x+5
  • Nirmal = 6x+5

→ 5x+5/6x+5 = 6/7

→ 7(5x+5) = 6(6x+5)

→ 35x+35 = 36x+36

→ 35x-36x = 36-35

→ -x = 1

→ x = 1

Their present ages will be

  • Asha = 5x = 5×1 = 5
  • Nirmal = 6x = 6×1 = 6

Answer:

 \huge \tt \: given

The age of Asha and Nirmal are on the ratio 5:6.Five years from now their age will be 6:7.Find their present ages.

Their present age

 \huge \tt \: solution

Present ages

= Asha = 5x

Nirmal = 6x

After 5 years

Asha = 5x + 5

Nirmal = 6x + 5

5x +  \frac{5}{6}  + 5 = \frac {6}{7}

7(5x + 5) = 6(6x + 5)

35x + 35 = 36x + 36

35x - 36x = 36 - 35

 - x = 1

x = 1

 \therefore \: present \: ages \:  =  \\ asha \:  = 5x  = 5 \times 1 = 5 \\ nirmal \:  = 6x = 6 \times 1 = 6
