Let the age of son be ( x )
So, age of father will be ( 2x + 20 )

Sum of their ages = 65

=> x + 2x + 20 = 65

=> 3x = 45

=> x = 15

Hence, age of son = 15 years
Age of father = 2(15) + 20 = 50 years

vedha03: u should not take x = 2x+20 because age of son is not equal to the age of father so you should take x = 2y+20
vedha03: ur answer is wrong

hiii!!!

here's ur answer...

ATQ, the age of father is 20 yrs more than twice the age of his son.

let the age of son be x

therefore the age of father is 2x + 20

sum of their ages is given = 65 yrs

==> x + 2x + 20 = 65 yrs

==> 3x + 20 = 65 yrs

==> 3x = 65 - 20

==> 3x = 45

==> x = 45/3

==> x = 15

hence, age of son = x = 15 yrs

age of his father = 2x + 20 = ( 2 × 15 ) + 20 = 30 + 20 = 50 yrs

hope this helps...!!!
