let the son age is 'x'
then father age is '4x'
 after 5 years,
         son age is x+5
         father age is 4x+5
but according to the problem,
father age is three times of son's age
therefore,
          4x+5 = 3(x+5)  => 4x+5 = 3x+15  => 4x-3x = 15-5  => x = 10
therefore
          son age is 10 years
          father age is 40 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of son be x years and present age of father will be 4x years.

According to Question now,

➳ 3(x + 5) = 4x + 5

➳ 3x + 15 = 4x + 5

➳ 15 - 5 = 4x - 3x

➳ x = 10 years

Therefore,

Present age of son = x = 10 years

Present age of father = 4x = 40 years
