Present age of father = 44 years

Solution :

Given,

Age of father = double the age of son

Let, age of son and father be 'x'and 'y'.

↠ y = 2x

20 years ago,

age of father = 12 times the age of son

↦ (2x - 20) = 12(x - 20)

↦ 2x - 20 = 12x - 240

↦ 220 = 10x

↦ x = 22

Age of son = 22 years

➠ Present age of father = 2(22) = 44 years
