hence;

y=7x/5

substitute;3(y)

3(7x/5)=21x/5

From a) above:

21x/5+12=4x+16

21x/5-4x=16-12

1x/5=4

x=5×4

x=20

but;

y=7x/5

and x=20

∴y=140÷5

y=28
