Step-by-step explanation:

  • Let the age of Jack's 1 St friend be x
  • Let the age of Jack's 2 nd friend be y

According to first condition

Jack's age will be twice the sum of the age

of their two friend

Hence Jack's age will be= 2(x+y) ----------1

Now,

According to second condition

After fiveyear means five year hence his age

will be twice the sum of the age of their

friends

Hence 5+jack age = 2((5+x)+(5+y))

Therefore 5+jack age=2(10+x+y)

Therefore Jack age=2(10+x+y)-5 ----------2

Hence by eq 1 nd 2

2(x+y)=2(10+x+y)-5

Dividing both the side by 2 we get

(x+y)=(10+x+y)-5

(x+y)= -10-x-y-5

By arranging

15= - x-x-y-y

15= - 2x-2y

Dividing by - 1

- 15=2(x+y)

x+y= - 15/2

Put this value in eq 1

2( - 15/2)= Jack age

Therefore Jack age be = - 15

But age can't be negetive hence question is wronge

Hence check your question properly
