☞︎︎︎ Let present age of karan be x years then, according to question,

age of Karan's father = 4x years

• age of karan = x years
• age of Karan's father = 4x

・age of karan = x + 4 years

・age of Karan's father = 4x + 4 years

but, according to question,

after 4 years age of Karan's father will be thrice that of karan,

➪ 4x + 4 = 3(x+4)

➪ 4x + 4 = 3x + 12

➪ 4x - 3x = 12 - 4

➪ x = 8

so, present age of karan is 8 years

then, age of Karan's father = 4x

→ 4 × 8 = 32 years

hence, present ages of karan and his father are 8 years and 32 years respectively.
