The age of kavita and her mother together is 72. If the mother's age is 3 times that of kavita find their present ages

Let kavita's age be x years.

so , mothers 's age = 3x years.

A/Q, x + 3x = 72

⇒ 4x = 72

∴ x = 18


so,

kavita's age = 18 years

her mother's age = 54 years.

suppose the age of kavita = X years
Here the age of her mother =3X years

according the questions

 \:  or \: 3x + x  = 72 yrs \\  \: or \: 4x = 72yrs \\  \: or \: x = 72 \div 4 \\ x = 18yrs \\   \\  \\ hence \: the \: age \: of \: kavita \: is \: 72years \\ and \: age \: of \: her \: mother \: is \: 18 \times 3years \:  = 54years \\
