Given:-

The age of mother is thrice that of her daughter. After 12 years, the age of the mother will be twice that of her daughter.

To Find:-

  • present age of the daughter and mother.

Solution:-

Let The Daughter's age be x.

as It is given that The age of mother is thrice that of her daughter.

So, Mother's age=3x.

According to the Question

After

12 years the daughter's age will be= x+12

and

Mother's age after 12 years will be= 3x+12

It is also Given That :

After 12 years the Mother's age will be twice of her daughter's age

\sf \therefore 3x + 12 = 2(x + 12)

 = > 3x + 12 = 2x + 24

 = > 3x - 2x = 24 - 12

 = > x = 12

And Mother's age = 3x= 3*12=36

∴ the present age of the daughter is 12years.

And Mother's age is 36 years.

And Mother's age = 3x= 3*12=36

∴ the present age of the daughter is 12years.

And Mother's age is 36 years.
