Given That:-

• The age of Rahul's brother is 5 times the age of Rahul.
• After 4 years, it would be 3 times

To Find:-

• Their present ages

Solution:-

Let the:-

• Present age of Rahul be x
• Present age of Rahul's brother's be 5x

After 4 years:-

• Rahul's age will be 3(x+4)
• Rahul's brother age 5x + 4

ATQ:-

➻ 5x + 4 = 3(x + 4)

➻ 5x + 4 = 3x + 12

➻ 5x -3x = 12 - 4

➻ 2x = 8

➻ x = 8/2

➻ x = 4

∴ The present age of Rahul is 4 and the present age of Rahul's brother is 5x = 5(4) = 20.
