The age of Ram and Laxman are in the ratio of 4:3. 5 yrs from now the ratio of their ages will be 9:7. Find the present ages.

ram's age=4x years
laxman 's age=3x years
after 5 years the age of ram will be=4x+5 years
and laxman 's will be = 3x+5 years
( 4x+5)/(3x+5)=9/7
cross multiply
7 (4x+5)=9 (3x+ 5 )
28x+35=27x+45
28x-27x=45-35
x=10
Ram's age=10×4=40 years
laxman's age=3×10=30 years
