Now , Multiplying by 3 in Equation (I) & by 2 in (ii) we get

→ (3x-5)× 3 = (4x-5) × 2

→ 9x - 15 = 8x -10

→ 9x -8x = -10 +15

→ x = 5

Therefore,

Present age of Ram = 3x = 3×5 = 15 years

Present age of Shyam = 4x = 4×5= 20 years
