  • Let the present age be x

Now , it is given that ages are in ratio of 5 : 7 , according to this :

➝ Age of Sam = 5x

➝ Age of Rohit = 7x

Six years later :

➝ Age of Sam = 5x + 6

➝ Age of Rohit = 7x + 6

According to the question :

➠ (5x + 6) + (7x + 6) = 84

➠ 12x + 12 = 84

➠ 12x = 84 - 12

➠ 12x = 72

➠ x = 72/12

➠ x = 6

  • Present age of Sam = 5(6) = 30 years
  • Present age of Rohit = 7(6) = 42 years
