the age of sona and sonali are in the ratio 3:5 five year hence , their age will be 7:10 what is their present ages?

let their present ages be 3x and 5x respectively
5 year hence 3x+5:5x+5
and also 5 years hence their age ratio is 7:10
........so
3x+5:5x+5::7:10
=10(3x+5)=7(5x+5)
=30x+50=35x+35
=50-35=35x-30x
=15=5x
=x=15/5
=x=3
so the age of sona =3x=3*3=9 years
                     sonali=5x=5*3=15 years
