The age of the father is 18 years older to his son. after 5 years fathers age becomes thrice of his son, what is fathers present age

Let the age of the son be x
Then, his father's present age = (x + 18) years.
After 5 years age of son and his father will be
(x + 18) + 5 = 3(x + 5)

x + 23 = 3x + 15

x = 4 i,e son's age.
His father's present age is (x+18)=22..
