Answer:

The age of mother and daughter will be 30 and 6 years respectively:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let present ages of mother and daughter be x and y respectively

given:

1. The age of the mother is 5 times that of a daughter:

  then, x = 5y

2. 3 years ago age of mother was 9 times of her daughter's age

then , in equation form it can be written as:

       (x-3) = 9(y-3)

  or, x-3 = 9y - 27

  or, x -9y =-27+3

  or, x-9y = -24

from very first eqution: x=5y

it can written as

       5y-9y = -24

     or, -4y =-24

     or , y = 6

then, x = 5*6=30

Hence, the present of mother and daughter are 30 and 6 respectively.
