Let the ages of a and b be 3x and 5x respectively.
After 4 years age of a becomes
3x+4
But given age is 5x (We have taken age of a as 5x from ratio 5:7)
=>3x+4=5x
=>2x=4
=>x=2

a = 3×2= 6 years
b= 5×2= 10 years. (Ans.)
