The ratio of the ages of two persons = 5:7

Ratio of their ages 16 years ago = 3:5

Now,

Present age of first person = 5x

Present age of second person = 7x

Age 16 years ago = 5x - 16

Age 16 years ago of second person = 7x - 16

5x-16 = 3

7x-16 = 5

5(5x-16) =3(7x-16)

25x−80=21x−48 25x-21x=80-48

4x=32

x=8

Therefore, the Present age of first person = 5 x 8 = 40

Present age of another person = 7 x 8 = 56

Hence, the present ages of the people are 40 and 56 years. HOPE IT HELP YOU
