let the age of father be 14x and son 3x

but it's given that father's age is 56 so,

14x = 56

x = 56÷14

x = 4

so , the age of son is 12 yrs

B) ratio of their ages = 14:3

so the money has to be divided in the ratio .

let the shares be 14x and 3x respectively ,

now , 14x + 3x = 1800

17x = 1800

x = 105.88

share if father = 14 x = 14 × 105.88 = 1482.32

share of son is 3x = 3 × 105.88 = 317.64
