Let,

• Present age of Sham = 5x years

According to the question,

→ Present age of Ram - Present age of Sham = 15 years

→ 8x - 5x = 15

→ 3x = 15

→ x = 15 ÷ 3

→ x = 5

→ The value of x = 5 years

Substitute the value of 'x' in the present age of Ram which we've assumed :-

→ Present age of Ram = 8x

→ Present age of Ram = 8(5)

→ Present age of Ram = 40
