Answer:

let the ages of Ramesh and Rahim are 5x and 7x respectively.

if Ramesh was 9 years older, age = 5x+9

and Rahim is 9 years younger , age = 7x-9

therefore according to question:

5x + 9 = 2(7x-9)

5x + 9 = 14x - 18

14x - 5x = 9 + 18

9x = 27

x = 27÷9 = 3yrs

therefore the age of Ramesh = 5*3 = 15 yrs

the age of Rahim = 7*3 = 21 yrs
