Let present age of a be x years and b be years.

multiplying 1 with -3

multiplying 2 with 5

adding 3 and 4

put x=20 in 1

therefore the present age of b 28 years

Let the present age of A be x years and that of B be y years.

From first condition,

x/y=5/7

7x=5y

7x-5y=0............(1)

From second condition,

x+4/y+4=3/4

4(x+4) =3(y+4)

4x+16=3y+12

3y-4x=16-12

3y-4x=4.............(2)

multiplying equation one by three and equation two by five we get

21x-15y=0...........(3)

15y-20x=20.........(4)

adding equations (3) and (4) we get,

x=20 and y =28

therefore,

Present age of A is 20 years @nd

Present age of B is 28 years.
