To find the average age we have to use the formula

 Average= sum of all elements ÷ no of elements

∴Average= (34+27+36+18+15+72+67+12+24+45)÷ 10

               = 350÷ 10

               = 35

∴35 is the average age of the people in the group.

Now we have the number of people above 35. There are 4 people above the age 35.

to find the percentage we have to use the formula,

Percentage  = (no. of people/total no of people) × 100

                     = (4/10) × 100

                     = 0.4 ×100

                     = 40

∴40% of the population is above the average age, which is 35.
