Let present age of writers be x and y be years

= x/y=5/7

=7x-5y=0......1

x+4/y+4=3/4

4x+16=3y+12

4x-3y=-4.......2

Multiplying 1 with -3

=-21x+15y=0.....3

Multiplying 2 with 5

=20x-15y=-20......4

Adding 3 and 4

=-x=-20

x=20

put x=20 in 1

7×20-5y=0

-5y=-140

y=-140/-5

y=28

Therefore the present age of writers is 28 years .
