According to question,
X : Y = 2:3
X/Y = 2/3
3X = 2Y -------(1)
After five years age of amit => ( X +5) years
After five years age of sumit = ( Y +5) years
According to question,
X + 5 : Y + 5 = 3:4
X + 5 / Y + 5 = 3/4
4 ( X + 5) = 3 ( Y +5)
4X + 20 = 3Y + 15
4X - 3Y = 15 - 20
4X - 3Y = - 5 ----------(2)
From equation (1) we get,
3X = 2Y
X = ( 2Y)/3 ------(3)
Putting the value of X in equation (2)
4X - 3Y = -5
4 × ( 2Y /3) - 3Y = -5
8Y/3 - 3Y = -5
8Y - 9Y = -5 × 3
-Y = -15
Y = 15 years
Putting the value of Y in equation (3)
X => 2Y/3
X => 2 × 15/3 = 2 × 5 = 10 years
Age of amit = X = 10 year
Age of sumit = Y = 15 years
