here is your answer

arun ⇒ 5x

varun ⇒ 7x

five years later

5x+ 5 ⇒ arun

7x + 5 ⇒ varun

so, the equation is

5x+5/ 7x + 5 = 3/4

⇒ cross multiply

⇒ (5x+5) *4 = (7x+5)* 3

⇒ 20x + 20 = 21x + 15

⇒ 20-15 = 21x- 20x

⇒ x = 5

∴ the age of arun = 5x = 5*5= 25

the age of varun = 7x = 7*5 = 35

Answer:

The present age of Arun = 5x = 5*8 = 40yrs

The present age of Varun = 2x = 2*8 = 16yrs

Step-by-step explanation:

Let their ratio be on x

5x/2x = present age

After 5 years

\frac{5x+5}{2x+5} = \frac{15}{7} \\

7[5x+5] = 15[2x+5]

35x + 35 = 30x + 75

35x - 30x = 75-35

5x = 40

x = 8

The present age of Arun = 5x = 5*8 = 40yrs

The present age of Varun = 2x = 2*8 = 16yrs
