father’s age was = 3x

present age of son = x+4

present age of father = 3x+4

Average age of both as given = 36 yrs

= (x+4) +(3x+4)/2 = 36

=x=64/4=16

so, son’s age was 16 yrs

and father’s age was 16*3=48 yrs

present age of son = 16+4=20 yrs

present age of father= 48+4=52 yrs

respective ratio of their present age = 52:20 or 26:10 or 13:5
