Let the age of Kanika be 3x.

Age of grandfather be 8x.

The difference of their ages = 50

That is,

\implies\bf{5x=50}

\implies\bf{x=\dfrac{50}{5}}

\implies\bf{x=10}

Now we can substitute 10 instead of x and thus we can find their age.

⇒ Age of Kanika = 3 x

⇒ 3x = 3 × 10 = 30

⇒ Age of grandfather = 8 x

⇒ 8x = 8 × 10 = 80.
