age of laxmi=7x

age of rahul=5x+4

age of laxmi=7x+4

sum of their ages=56

5x+4+7x+4=56

12x+8=56

12x=48

age of laxmi=4 x 7 =28

5x+4 and 3x+4

According to the question The sum of their ages

5x+4+3x+4=54

8x+8=54

8x=54-8

8x=48

x=48/8
