the Ages of rahul and rohan are in the ratio of 10 is to 17 eight years from now the ratio of their ages will be 2 is to 3 find present ages

Let their present ages i.e. Age of Rahul = 10 x
                                     So, Age of Rohan = 17 x

After 8 years :
Age of Rahul will be 10x+8 
Age of Rohan will be 17x+8

ATQ 
Ration of their Ages After 8 years be 2/3 
so, 10x+8/17x+8=2/3
=>34x+16  = 30x+24
=>34x-30x = 24-16
=>          4x= 8 
                x= 2 
so, Their present ages are :-
Age of Rahul = 10x = 2 x10 = 20 years 
      Age of Rohan = 17x= 2 x 17 = 34 years

let the age of rahul and rohan be 10x and 17x
after 8 years age of rahul=10x+8
after 8 years age of rohan=17x+8

10x+8/17x+8=2/3
3(10x+8)=2(17x+8)
30x+24=34x+16
24-16=34x-30x
8=4x
8/4=x
2=x

so,rahul present age is 10x=10^2=20
     rohan present age is 17x=17^2=34
