⤳  5( 3x + 4 ) = 4( 4x + 4)

⤳  15x + 20 = 16x + 16

⤳  16x - 15x = 20 - 16

⤳  x = 4

T H E R E F O R E,

  • Present age of Raju = 3x

→ 3 × 4

12 years

  • Present age of Ravi = 4x

→ 4 × 4

16 years

 \frac{3x + 4}{4x + 4}  =  \frac{4 \cancel y}{5 \cancel y}

 \frac{3x + 4}{4x + 4}  =  \frac{4}{5}

5(3x + 4) = 4(4x + 4)

15x + 20 = 16x + 16

15x - 16x = 16 - 20

 - x =  - 4

x = 4
