let their present ages be 2x and 3x.

ratio of their ages = 2:3

ATQ

2x -5/3x-5 = 1/2

4x - 10 = 3x - 5

4x - 3x = -5 + 10

x = 5

age of ram

= 2x

2 × 5 = 10years

age of shyam

= 3× 5

= 15 years

age of ram is 10 years and age of shyam is 15 years.
