Answer:

Let the ratio be 4x:5x.

After six years,

Age of Ritu = 4x+6

Age of Reshma = 5x+6

According to Question,

4x+6/5x+6 = 6:7

=> 7(4x+6) = 6(5x+6)

=> 28x+42 = 30x+36

=> 42-36 = 30x-28x

=> 6 = 2x

=> x = 3

Hence, present age of Ritu = 4×3 = 12 years

Present age of Reshma = 5×3 = 15 years

Given:-

  • The ages of ritu and reshma are in the ratio of 4:5.
  • Six years from now the ratio of their ages will be 6:7.

To find:-

  • Find the present ages of Ritu and Reshma ?

Solution:-

We have,

The ages of ritu and reshma are in the ratio of 4:5.

  • Let 'x' be common in given ratios

  • Ritu's age = 4x years
  • Reshma's age = 5x years

six years from now the ratio of their ages will be 6:7

According to question:-

=> (4x + 6)/(5x + 6) = 6/7

=> 7(4x + 6) = 6(5x + 6)

=> 28x + 42 = 30x + 36

=> 28x - 30x = 36 - 42

=> -2x = -6

=> x = -6/-2

=> x = 3

Now,

Ritu's age = 4x years

=> 4 × 3

=> 12 years

Reshma's age = 5x years

=> 5 × 3

=> 15 years

Hence, the present ages of Ritu's age 12 years and Reshma's age 15 years.
