Given:

The ages of ritu and reshma are in the ratio of 4:5.

Six years from now the ratio of their ages will be 6:7.

Find:

Present ages of Ritu and Reshma

Solution:

We have,

The ages of ritu and reshma are in the ratio of 4:5.

Let 'x' be common in given ratios

Ritu's age = 4x years

Reshma's age = 5x years

six years from now the ratio of their ages will be 6:7

=> (4x + 6)/(5x + 6) = 6/7

=> 7(4x + 6) = 6(5x + 6)

=> 28x + 42 = 30x + 36

=> 28x - 30x = 36 - 42

=> -2x = -6

=> x = -6/-2

=> x = 3

Now,

Ritu's age = 4x years

=> 4 × 3

=> 12 years

Reshma's age = 5x years

=> 5 × 3

=> 15 years

Hence, the present ages of Ritu's age 12 years and Reshma's age 15 years.

I hope it will help you.

Regards.
