{\bold{\red{↦}}}

Present age of Simmy = 15 yearsand Present age of Jimmy = 20 years

\large\underline\red{\sf{Solution :-}}

{\bold{\red{↦}}}

Let the present age of Simmy be 6x years

and the present age of Jimmy be 8x years

So,  \frac{6x + 5}{8x + 5}  =  \frac{4}{5}  \\  =  > 32x + 20 = 30x + 25 \\  =  > 2x = 5 \\  =  > x =  \frac{5}{2} years

So, Present age of Simmy = 15 years

and Present age of Jimmy = 20 years

  • ages of Simmy and Jimmy are in the ratio 6:8 i.e. 3:4 .
  • Five years from now the ratio of their ages will be 4:5

\\\bf\pink{\underline{\underline{Solution:}}}\\

Let their present ages be 3x and 4x .

Five years from now ,

their present ages be 3x+5 and 4x+5 .

\bf{A.T.Q. ,}

\frac{3x+5}{4x+5} = \frac{4}{5}

=> 5(3x+5) = 4(4x+5)

=> 15x+25 = 16x+20

=> 16x-15x=25-20

=> x=5

Their present age is :

3x = 3×5 => 15 years

4x = 4×5 => 20 years
