After 10 years, their ages will be in the ratio 9:7.

Therefore the equation: 7x + 10/5x + 10 = 9/7.

7*(7x + 10) = 9*(5x + 10)

49x - 45x = 90 - 70

4x = 20

x = 20/4

x = 5

Therefore, their present ages are: 7x = 7*5 = 35 and 5x = 5*5 = 25
