Let the mother's age be 7x

Let the daughter's age be 3x

Their difference is 28 so,we have

7x -3x =28

4x =28

x =28/4

x = 7.

So the age of mother = 7x = 7×7= 49 years

and daughter's age = 3x = 3×7 = 21 years
