Answer:

Varma = 5x ---  5 (4)= 20 years of age

Vishnu = 7x --- 7 (4) = 28 years of age

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the ages be x

Four years from now, their ages —

  • Varma's age = (5x + 4) years
  • Vishnu's age = (7x + 4) years

5x+4 / 7x+4 = 3 / 4

So, by the rule of LHS=RHS:

4 (5x+4) = 3 (7x + 4)

20x + 16 = 21x + 12

16 - 12     =  21x - 20x

4             =  x

Now let's find the present ages:-

Varma = 5x ---  5 (4)= 20 years of age

Vishnu = 7x --- 7 (4) = 28 years of age
