Explanation: The Ahom dynasty was founded by Sukaphaa ,the first Ahom king who travelled from Mong Mao and reached the Brahmaputra valley by crossing the Patkai mountain range. The Ahom kingdom which currently lies in Assam, India lasted for 598 years, which ended because of the  Burmese invasion and then finallt takenover by the British East India Company as per the Treaty of Yandabo in 1826.

The king along with his three queens, two sons, dignitaries and their families, and a strong force of nine thousand soldiers entered Assam through the Patkai mountains before reaching  Namruk (presently known as Namrup). He maintained a cordial relationship with the local groups, the Barahi and the Marans and ultimately made Charaideo it`s capital with established offices of the Dangarias— the Borgohain and the Burhagohain .

The rule of the Ahoms ended with the Burmese  invasions and then the subsequent annexations of the kingdom by the British East India Company.  There was also the treaty of Yandabo that was signed in 1826 which marked a distinct phase in the history of Assam.
