Explanation:

Griffin had chosen a bad time of the year to wander about London without clothes. It was mid - winter and instead of wandering in the streets,he decided to slip into a big London store for warmth as the air was bitterly cold and he could not do without clothes. At the London store,as soon as the store was closed,he gave himself the pleasure of clothing and feeding himself without regard to any expense. He fitted himself with warm clothes, shoes, overcoat and a wide brimmed hat.He ate cold meat and sweets and drank coffee and wine at the store. But he had to escape from the store by running and taking off his clothes in the morning as he was noticed sleeping on a pile of quilts by the store assistants.
