SOLUTION

GIVEN

The algebraic expression of arithmetic sequence is n² - 1

TO DETERMINE

1. Write 1st term

2. Write 2nd term

3. Write 3rd term

4. Write 10th term

EVALUATION

Here it is given that algebraic expression of arithmetic sequence is n² - 1

1. The 1st term is obtained by putting n = 1

Hence the 1st term

= 1² - 1

= 0

2. The 2nd term is obtained by putting n = 2

Hence the 2nd term

= 2² - 1

= 4 - 1

= 3

3. The 3rd term is obtained by putting n = 3

Hence the 3rd term

= 3² - 1

= 9 - 1

= 8

4. The 10th term is obtained by putting n = 1

Hence the 10th term

= 10² - 1

= 100 - 1

= 99
