The all American slurp class 6 summary??

Answer:
“The All- American SLURP“, by Lensey Namioka, is an amusing short story about how the Chinese Lin family learns to become “American.” The story is told from the point of view of the family’s adolescent daughter. Lin’s first American dinner is at the Gleason’s, and it isn’t exactly a success. In China, the way to prepare celery is to pull out the strings, chop it up, and then put it in the pot to cook. So, when the Lins are first presented with raw celery, the obvious thing for them to do is start pulling out the strings until everyone in the room is staring at them. Of course, the Gleasons are not the best at knowing about Chinese customs either. For example, when Mr. Gleason tries to pick up the last pea on his plate with chopsticks, it is quite a sight to see, until he gives up and picks it up with his fingers. The point of the story is that even if you can’t understand each other’s customs, you can still be friends. With a little effort, you can learn more about each other’s culture. If you are a Chinese immigrant feeling embarrassed about not knowing American etiquette, this is the story for you. This is a very funny and sweet story that I recommend to any age group. I hope you like it as much as I do.
A girl and her family immigrate from China to America. They get invited to their neighbor house for their first American dinner. They realize American etiquette, so they don't know exactly how to react. Later on, they go to a fancy restaurant for dinner and the narrator is embarrassed by her family's obnoxious slurping. After that, the Lin family invites the Gleason's to their house for a chinese dinner. The narrator and Meg Gleason go for milkshakes that night, and after Meg gets asked if she always slurps, she just answers, 'All American Slurps'.
